Business Consulting for Vendors
I’ve had a front-row seat to client-vendor relationships for 15 years
Wedding planners get a unique perspective when it comes to watching couples and vendors interact. We intimately understand the struggles and pressures of being a wedding vendor (because we’re living it right there with you!). But, we also watch our couples sift through the overwhelming number of potential vendors out there and see exactly why the pass on some and hire others (and no, it’s not always about price!).
I’ve watched couples be super excited about interviewing a vendor, only to be disappointed and not hire them. I’ve watched couples go from being madly in love with a vendor at booking, only to be cursing their name by the time wedding day rolls around. And the hardest part is… most of the time the vendor is completely unaware of their missteps.
And I’ve absolutely witnessed incredibly talented vendors who are amazing at the work they do, but who are so obviously struggling with how to successfully run a business. A knowledge gap that costs them my clients’ business, and sometimes even my personal recommendation.
It all boils down to this - systems and communication.
And I can help you with both.
What I’m offering and why you should care…
-
A top pet peeve of couples is an obviously unorganized vendor.
(And trust me, it's more obvious than you think.)
Flying by the seat of your pants can serve you well when you first start out, but as your business grows, your systems need to mature with it. Everything from the booking process, to client meetings, to final delivery needs to have a process that instills confidence with couples and creates a manageable workflow for you.
Well-developed systems not only help you appear more professional and high-value, but they also cut down on unnecessary communication and mental load stress (for everyone) created by confusing processes and incomplete information.
And it's not one-size-fits-all either. Let's put together system that are the best fit for you, your business, and your clients!

Nothing annoys a couple faster than a vendor who can't communicate clearly or professionally.
Whether it's failing to provide important info, explaining things in a confusing manner, or not properly addressing a couple's concerns, poor communication will ruin your relationships with your clients.
Everything from your website to your formal documents to your everyday emails is an opportunity to truly connect with and impress your client, or completely turn them off.
Long before I was a wedding planner, I was a business writing professional and my academic background is in creative and business writing and communications. I have a true love of writing and communication and can show you how big of difference both can make in your business.

Couples love to see a vendor who evolves.
Whether you want to try something new or just up your current game, developing your business beyond where it currently is takes planning, organization, and perspective.
Brainstorming, developing systems, working though pain-points, managing trial and error - it can all be so very daunting.
And it's so, so much easier sharing the load with someone who knows their stuff and can offer you an objective viewpoint. I love seeing vendors grow and succeed. Let's take your business to it's full potential!
Loving on your business - a note on vunerablity
I hear ya - hiring someone to consult on your business can sound scary and expensive. It can be hard to understand exactly what you’re going to get and if it will actually make a difference for your business.
More than that, it can be a very vulnerable experience. I started my business from scratch with zero experience in the industry. It’s something I’m very proud of, but also very protective of. The truth is, we all have so much of our egos and self-worth and self-identity wrapped up in our businesses. The idea of someone coming along and showing us where our missteps are and how to do things differently in order to be successful can almost feel like a personal attack. Sometimes we don’t want to hear it, we think we know best, and we certainly don’t need any help.
I am 100% guilty of this, too - to this day.
But I can promise you this: If you let me into your corner of the world, I will approach you and your business with nothing less than the love and acknowledgement you deserve for getting this far (wherever that may be). We can work together to uncover what isn’t working in your business and create a plan to love your business to the next level!
Process
Ok, I have your attention, but you’re wondering what’s the nitty gritty? What does consulting actually look like?
It’s starts with a free consultation - an hour for us to talk about your business, where you’re struggling, and what level of help you’re open to (because if you’re not really on board, nothing I do will matter).
Next comes a proposal outlining what our relationship will look like. It can be as simple as a handful of brainstorming sessions or as complex as a complete systems overhaul. The proposal will outline the details of our work (meetings, solo responsibilities, deliverables, and end-goals) and a corresponding investment plan.
Once all the details are agreed to, we get down to business!
